From the Introduction:

Lifeguarding started with the idea of writing “lead-ins” to songs a friend of mine had written... creating a theater piece a la Jacque Brel is Alive and Well....

When that didn’t pan out, I shelved the effort. Recently, however, (and some two years later) I came across what I had written and decided to pick up where I had left off. The result is this book.

What follows are brief stories and reflections, one to three or four pages in length. Real and imagined; some are a mix of both. I would like to think that a few offer an idea or two worth considering.

My hope is that there are stories here to which the reader can relate... examples, perhaps, of the theater-like nature of everyday life.
