Noble Pursuits

64 pgs — text; two schematics; order from area booksellers

A short story, Noble Pursuits tells of a weekend reunion among former graduate students, all friends. It’s been thirty years. Now in their mid-fifties, they consider their lives in light of their beloved professor’s admonition: the job of the university is to instill the pursuit of personhood. Only then, should the student be allowed to specialize.

A presentation by that professor, a night of ayahuasca, heartfelt reflections, discussions, in some cases, a sense of renewal… all lead to conclusions concerning worthy next steps in their respective journeys.
